PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Asperitas was tasked with accessing and migrating applications from one of four data centers to the appropriate cloud platforms, upgrading them to the latest OS and database versions. This project aimed to establish a streamlined, repeatable process for future migrations, ensuring efficiency and consistency.

SCOPE OF WORK

We tackled Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom-made applications across three company segments. Working independently from the current application support team, we successfully migrated the applications to the cloud and handed them over for continued support. Collaboration with the Cloud Infrastructure teams was key to enhancing the availability and efficiency of cloud components while adhering to strict deadlines. Throughout the project, we developed and documented best practices for migration teams using AWS and Azure, driving continuous improvement in the client's cloud offerings.

RESULT

We successfully migrated all targeted applications on schedule, aside from those retired during the process. The enhancements in migration processes and accumulated knowledge have set the stage for future projects to meet or exceed budget and scope expectations. Additionally, we collaborated with the client and cloud vendors to establish initial CI/CD pipeline practices, significantly improving the efficiency and quality of future application support.

Through our efforts, the client is now positioned to leverage a more agile, scalable cloud infrastructure, ensuring higher performance and reliability for their applications.
